Our Education Team

The Cornerstones Education Team have been specifically recruited and trained to meet the assessed needs of each student accessing the school.

Our Teachers and Learning Support Assistants are supported by a network of Speech & Language and Sensory Integration Therapists to deliver an effective and meaningful curriculum which enables each student to achieve their academic, social, and emotional and communication potential.

Staff members are trained and practiced in a variety of teaching and communication methods designed to enhance the students learning experience including PECS (Picture Exchange Communication Systems), Makaton, and TEACCH.

The teaching staff have developed an extensive network of community resources to support student’s ongoing development inclusive of sporting, cultural and sensory opportunities.

Regular meetings with local Connexions advisors enable individual college and work placements to be commissioned within a variety of settings designed around the individual choices, aptitudes and aspirations of each student including access to Entry Level and NVQ qualifying courses.
