Why Do We Support Young People from Across the Country?
Young People placed within Cornerstones have often experienced placement breakdowns in other specialist educational, social care and healthcare settings. They are amongst the most vulnerable young people in the country and recognised as in need of specialist residential provision.
Providing such settings requires the integration of specialist multi-agency services, which can be matched to individual need. With such support services in place young people can achieve regardless of their presenting needs, behaviours and placement history. As recognised in current children's legislative and policy guidance such young people need the right placement to succeed and avoid multiple placement breakdowns.
We support young people from across the country including the South Coast, Central London, the Home Counties, the Midlands and the North. We are based in Cheshire and have an established network of national purchasers seeking repeat placements given the 'Best Value' services and outcomes experienced with their Young People.
Young People requiring our support are often placed away from their home areas and families. We ensure that geographical separation does not impact upon the young people or their families by ensuring comprehensive contact services are in place, which meets the needs of all. Such contact services are recognised as 'outstanding' by Ofsted and are seen by families as one of the most positive aspects of the Young People's new found stability. Such evidence is available to parents and placing agencies from Ofsted reports and ongoing feedback forms from parents and other professionals.
Cornerstones continues to facilitate contact between the representatives of existing placements and those seeking new placements to ensure the services commissioned are delivered to the highest standards. Such contacts can include prospective parents speaking directly to parents currently accessing our placements and contact services. This has proven to be a very popular and helpful information point for parents considering a placement at Cornerstones.
To build on our successful contact services, we are launching an online secured young people's website, which will enable families and practitioners to keep in touch with the young person's achievements on a daily basis.
